Topic
Our autumn term topic: Planet Earth
We will be working with year 3 to plan exciting activities based around the theme of Planet Earth. If you have any information which you can share with us we would love to know. Maybe you could take a trip to the library or look through books at home to find some information to help you learn more about Planet Earth.
We will be using ICT to present work and do research.
Homework
Homework will be given at least twice each week. This may be to learn something like tables or spellings; to complete a written task; to talk about a topic with someone at home; research. In year 4 we would also like your child to read aloud at home for at least 10-15 minutes each day.
Equipment
Your child will need writing pencils; colouring pencils; a 30cm ruler; sharpener; glue stick; dry wipe whiteboard pen; rubber; blue or black handwriting pen.
Please can you ensure your child’s PE kit is in school throughout the week.
- Indoor PE kit: white T-shirt; dark shorts;
- Outdoor PE Kit: as above plus track suit bottoms and top when cold; trainers
- A bag to take dirty trainers home would be useful.with a bag to carry dirty trainers home.
Drinks and snacks
Please ensure your child has a named sports cap water bottle to drink while in class. Fruit or vegetable snacks may be eaten at break time.
Future Events
Swimming – year 4 go swimming in the summer term. More information will be provided nearer to the time.
Residential – Year 4 will be take part in a 2 day residential, sleeping overnight in school. An initial meeting will take place in October to give you more details.
